Check out SBLive's custom rankings formula for every classification of Louisiana football

With the Louisiana high school football season in full swing, SBLive Sports has released its 2023 Louisiana high school football computer rankings for every classification.

We will continue to release our computer rankings weekly for the duration of the season.

Holy Cross continues its remarkable turnaround season as the Tigers have ascended to the top of this week's Class 5A computer rankings. Lafayette-area schools St. Thomas More and Teurlings Catholic are first and second, respectively, in 4A.

Jena leads four 6-0 teams atop the 3A rankings, while undefeated Calvary Baptist remains at the top in 2A. St. Mary's leads 1A with a 5-0 record, ahead of two 6-0 squads.

SBLive's formula was created using its own linear algebra-based ranking algorithminspired by the Colley Bias-Free Ranking Method. Colley’s Method was created by Wes Colley, Ph.D., an astrophysicist at the University of Alabama at Huntsville. He devised his algorithm to help address the subjectivity and controversy regarding BCS college football selections in the 1990s and early 2000s, using a method that used no subjective variables.
